BARBARA A. RASMUSSEN, ESQ. has focused much of her career on helping families navigate the process of separation and divorce. A litigator for over 20 years and seeing firsthand how litigating can further rupture the family, Barbara decided to open a Mediation office working with couples to keep their disputes out of a courtroom. She has a gift for bringing people to the table and considering all the highly charged emotions involved. Her clients feel a sense of peace knowing that Barbara puts their family’s financial, emotional, and physical well-being first through what is usually a painful and difficult process. Barbara attributes her success to diligence, perseverance, positive attitude, empathy, and her desire to achieve the results her clients expect from a seasoned Attorney focused on resolving issues and minimizing conflict.

Barbara is admitted to practice law in New York, Maryland and Virginia. She has a general practice on the East End of Long Island, NY. In Maryland and Virginia, she focuses solely on Family Law Mediation.

Barbara is a member of Bar Associations in New York, Maryland and Virginia; former adjunct professor at LIU Southampton; founder of Adopt-a-Veteran annual donation drive; and member of the Richmond Country Club. She often hosts seminars on Family Law topics and presents her Mediation mindset to marriage counselors and potential clients in the hopes of ending the cycle of toxic litigation.
